In the scope of a routine inspection, insufficient clearance between the guide vanes and turbine covers was detected. The clearance had diminished so much that friction between the guide vanes and the turbine covers increased enough to damage the guide vane studs and levers. The repair involved grinding the bottom turbine cover to increase clearance and the drilling and installation of new pins between the lever and the guide vane stud.
